A new beginning… again.
Blessing to everyone and Happy New year!
It’s time to begin, again… If that makes any sense. A jubilee, a starting over. Last year was a full cart for me and I’m not sure this year will be any lighter. However, I hope not to drop the blogger ball as much in 2009 so here it goes.
This year I’m planning another personal photo challenge. I took a break last year but managed to find 52 pictures throughout the entire year to complete the project, but the rules were very loose… just find 52 pictures form 2008… Not that difficult since I took about 30,000 pictures in 08.
Blessings or curse, Photo challenge 2009 is Triptych (pronounced “trip-tick”) It comes from the greek word, τρίπτυχο [ tri'ptu.xo ] tri- “three” + ptychē “fold.” My 52 Trips will focus on threes, thirds, etc. Three photos, one photo with 3 images, 3 items, ta da ta da tadaaa, etc! I might really be setting myself up for trouble, but it’s my challenge and like Calvin ball, I can change the rules when I like.
A couple other things in the photo basket will be “free backgrounds.” Some have asked to use pictures I’ve taken for their desktop background, so I’m answering the call. Within the first week of the month, I’ll post a link for downloading the picture of the month. In addition, I’m going for an Ansel Adams 12 project. Twelve black and whites in the style of Mr. Adams himself. (I’m really keeping my fingers crossed that our family makes it to Yosemite this year)
What else, what else? Who knows. I look forward to what this year has to offer. I live in a very interesting time in history. I’ve seen things my forefathers would never of imagined. How will I live in it all this year? What will be my place? Who will I meet and who will I walk past and never see? What stories will I hear? What stories will I tell?
One year ago I was sitting in Uganda preparing for Faith Quest. Today, I’m sitting at home snowed in. The adventures are different, but they’re still adventures… If one chooses.
May the Lord make His face shine upon you and give you peace.
